Ahh the holidays are finally over. A new year is upon us and time in reflection is complete. A new year with all of the possibilities that that entails has been birthed from the collective consciousness of the matrix to give us further paths to follow.
A detailing of the precious and previous adventures should be undertaken.
Whiskey and Dust 2017 by all accounts was a very successful and enjoyable year. New friends were made and experiences shared. A collective coming together in toil, revelry, hardship and heat. Let us not forget the fucking heat. In a previous life, I am used to extreme heat and even I was affected. Frankly, I am stunned none of our campmates didn’t stroke out. Shared hardship brings us closer together, but shared fun binds us tighter still.
So kudos to you, you tough little bastards.
The participation level was astounding and brought everyone closer as the time went by in the dust.
We were blessed with some rock star virgins this year. Whether it was your first time with Whiskey and Dust or first time on the Playa. A better crop of virgins could not be asked for. Thank you for jumping in and most notably not dying.

Whiskey and Dust 2018
So it's on again campers!
Time to play in the dirt with all of our friends.
This year will again be full participation expected from everyone in the camp. Whether you put on an event, build your ass off, tear down, tend the bar, clean up,
Fluff (Hard to top Fairy Gothmother).
If you are not on the direct sales list and you absolutely have to have a ticket guaranteed? Best start your own camp. We have been very successful in procuring tickets so have faith, the Playa provides.
Our camp will be limited to 50 camper participants and no, zero, nada nonparticipants. If you do not intend to participate, then this is not the camp for you. We are limiting to 5 virgins this year and every virgin will have a sponsor.
We want fill up our fifty campers as soon as possible.

Applications are first come first serve, so get on it. We think it will fill up fast.
Anyone with an approved application, but not in the first 50, will be put on a waiting list.
Our camp is about giving back, and our events last year showed it. We need event write-ups from approved campers soon. These will be submitted in the Burning Man guide book. (Date to follow)
We will be striving to put on as many, if not more events this year as last. The Bar will be open from 6 PM to midnight every night of the Burn and bartending will be in four hour shifts at least two persons per shift. Taking a couple of shifts is a good way to participate.
The Bar can also be opened at most anytime by responsible campers. (Guidelines to follow)
Additionally, there will be some leadership positions this year for senior campers. These positions will be given a higher priority than other applicants.
These positions are:
• Bar Manager(s)
• Kitchen Manager
• Camp Mom/Dad/Temporary Dictator
Some changes this year will be as follows:
All transactions for Whiskey and Dust will be through Paypal (Bling, Dues, Tickets etc.) It was an unnecessary amount of work corralling funds last year, so this is designed to streamline things as much as possible. Transfers between campers for tickets or whatnot can be conducted however the campers deem fit.

For as long as Whiskey and Dust has been around, the only dues was participation. Weasel has been stunning generous over the year in providing funds along with the fundraiser. Funding for the camp this year is a transition from Weasel providing funds to us the campers providing funds. This decision was considered long and hard and it is decided that is the fairest way to fund the camp. It is important that the camp becomes self sustaining.
One of the reasons for hesitance was that a person(s) could feel that by having a fee as a due that the Eleventh Non-Principle (Radical Entitlement) would rear its ugly head. Personally, we feel that our campers are of such high quality that this will not be an issue, but it is best to set expectations accordingly.
The Dues for 2018 Are:
• One bottle of Mid to Upper grade Whiskey
We will be streamlining the costs as much as possible this year so there will be no upgrades anticipated to the camp unless necessary. If there is money left over, then it will be returned to campers, after the burn.
YOU ARE OFFICIALLY A PART OF WHISKEY AND DUST 2018 WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION AND DUES. IF SOMEONE ELSE HAS AN APPROVED APPLICATION AND HAS SUBMITTED THEIR DUES, THEY MAY GET YOUR SLOT!
ONCE THE SLOTS ARE FILLED UP, PEOPLE WILL GO ON A STANDBY LIST. IF PEOPLE NEED TO PULL OUT, THEY WILL BE REFUNDED THEIR DUES.
DUES NEED TO BE SUBMITTED ASAP IN ORDER TO PAY FOR CAMP EXPENSES (Burning Man costs. Container Storage Fees)
We will be assembling guides and guidelines for camp. These will help everyone to more better enjoy more better things (that was said that way on purpose) and to close communication gaps identified at the last burn.
